In Design on Prescription - Design på Recept, furniture and product designer Lise Vester transforms OFFICINET - a former pharmacy on Bredgade - into a sensory design pharmacy, where light, materials and aesthetics are explored as tools for presence, reflection and new perspectives. Officinet was once the pharmacy of Frederiks Hospital - today Designmuseum Danmark - and means “workshop” in Latin: a place where something is mixed, refined and dispensed.
The exhibition brings together craftsmanship, material research and healing design principles in atmospheric works, where sound, light, bodily posture and distorted reflections are dosed as poetic pauses for immersion. The installation is accompanied by music, scents, small “design prescriptions” and knowledge about how design and neuroaesthetics - the study of how sensory experiences affect perception, emotions and well-being - can support our mental well-being in everyday life.
